Social media can be a cost effective asset to any organisation. If used to full advantage it can reach a wide audience, publicise specific events and attract new volunteers or clients. This is an opportunity to be guided through the process of developing an effective social media plan, creating engaging content while recognising and avoiding the pitfalls.
Over two short sessions develop your social media voice and find the platform that is right for you. Please note that you must commit to attending both sessions.

3 Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust announce changes to autumn funding round
We are closing applications to our autumn grant round to allow us time to develop our work at JRCT.
The Trust remains open to applications across all of our programmes in March but will close to all applications in August. Applications will re-open for the December deadline.
As an organisation, we are going through a time of change resulting from recent growth, our response to the pandemic, and crucially, efforts to confront our colonial history. These developments raise important questions about our work as a Trust, which we need time to address.
The closure of the grant round will ease workload pressures among the staff team to allow us the time to needed to engage with the change process.
We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but we hope this will give new applicants the time to apply by 28 March or for our December deadline. Existing grantees who had hoped to reapply in August will be contacted by their grants officer.
4Building the Community-Pharmacy Partnership Programme
CDHN are delighted to announce that the BCPP programme is now open for the 2022/23 year. Last year we funded 45 new partnerships at an investment of £400,000. The BCPP programme offers a unique opportunity for you and your pharmacist, to co-design locally based solutions to the health needs of your community.
CDHN offers support and mentoring to develop your ideas into a successful application and we particularly welcome applications from groups who are new to the fund and those representing groups most adversely affected by Covid and health inequalities.

Linking Generations NI are very excited to have launched: All Ages April 2022 - small grant scheme!
The funding aims to create connections across generations and organisations that wouldn’t normally work together. LGNI’s vision is that these connections and relationships will continue into the future.
The small grants are £150 and are open to a range of groups across Northern Ireland including:
A new piece of legislation, The Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2022, is about to come into force.
Having finished its progress through the Assembly on Tuesday 8 February 2022, the new law has now gone forward for Royal Assent, the final stage in the legislative process.
The Commission has welcomed the progress of the legislation, noting it will effectively reinstate the register of charities and give certainty to charities, the public, funders and others as to which organisations are registered charities in Northern Ireland.
The Act will also increase the public transparency of the charity sector by re-instating annual reporting by charities, supporting the public and others in undertaking checks on the charities they support.
The Commission is currently developing a series of FAQs aimed at advising charities and the wider public on what the new law will mean for them and the regulation of charities in Northern Ireland as a whole. These will be published on the Commission’s website and kept updated in the coming months.
In the meantime, charity trustees are encouraged to ensure their contact details on the register of charities are accurate and up-to-date, as this will be the contact details the Commission uses to correspond with trustees regarding any changes brought in by the new Act.
7Rights after Brexit: Minority ethnic groups, migrant people and border communities
The Equality Commission, the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission and the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission would like to invite you to a FREE event to discuss issues relating to cross-border equality and human rights after Brexit facing minority ethnic groups, migrant people and border communities in the North West region.

Who is the event for?
This event will be of interest to representatives of minority ethnic groups and migrant people in the North West area, as well as community groups and individuals from cross border and rural areas. Your participation, either in person or online, will help us to understand the issues and challenges being faced by cross-border communities as a result of Brexit.
You will hear about the work the three Commissions are taking forward in this area and the advice and support that is available to individuals who may have a concern about their equality and human rights after Brexit.

8Launch of the Youth Participatory Budgeting (PB) Accelerator Toolkit and DIY Manual
Zoom Workshop: Wednesday 23 March 2022, 10 am - 12 noon.
The toolkit provides detailed guidance to support the design and delivery of youth led PB. The free on-line resource includes everything from the values that underpin youth participation, enabling conditions for youth PB to thrive, the typical stages of a school or community PB process and good practice case studies from across Europe and America. It is accompanied by a DIY Manual with helpful resources and tools to support Youth PB.
This on-line interactive workshop will be in English. There will be three other launch events happening in each of the project partner countries including, Poland; Spain; and UK - (England, Scotland and Wales on 17 March 2022) The Erasmus+ research partnership brings together five partners from across three countries. The project is co-ordinated by the Polish Foundation Soclab, with collaborators from Field of Dialogue in Poland, the University of Granada’s Medialab in Spain, as well as Shared Future CIC in the UK and Community Places in Northern Ireland.

This March sees the start of a series of workshops and opportunities for people aged 50+ years across DCSDC to start to consider how they can reconnect and reengage to help address social isolation and loneliness. This 2022-2023 Forward Work Programme sets out the activity and performance framework the Consumer Council proposes to deliver in the second year of the 2021-2024 Corporate Plan, underpinned by consumer priorities and strategic objectives.
We are seeking your views and comments to help shape the development of our work. This is an important part of the process to ensure our proposals are relevant to the issues that matter most to consumers in Northern Ireland.
We are hosting a virtual Forward Work Programme Consultation event on Thursday 10 March, starting at 11.00am and lasting approximately one and a half hours. We will talk through our proposed plans and there will be the opportunity to discuss our 2022-2023 Forward Work Programme with our Senior Leadership Team.

The NI Human Rights Commission would like to present you with its Draft Strategic Plan 2022-2025, which can be viewed online here.
We want to hear your feedback on the contents of the draft plan, it’s objectives and priorities. If you agree or disagree, any suggestions or amendments, or if you support the draft plan as it is, we think it’s important to hear from you.
Many thanks to everyone who contributed to the initial consultation on the draft strategic plan. It was very important to hear about human rights issues affecting everyone in Northern Ireland. We hope this draft has taken on board these considerations.

Developing the knowledge and skills to manage conflict in groups is important to be able to effectively engage and communicate with groups of people in the Community with similar goals but differing ideas, opinions, or values. At this event will explore different approaches to changing our food system in order to improve health, reduce food insecurity, build community resilience and reduce our impact on the environment.
Whether you are a local business owner, a keen grower, a volunteer at a local community lunch club, or a parent interested in learning about home cooking on a budget we hope that this event will give you food for thought.
Holywell Trust have an opportunity for people from throughout Derry City & Strabane District Council area to take part in a day of activities focused on the recently produced Borderlands exhibition. The exhibition captures the views of 22 local people on the border and the impact that it has on the North West.
The programme will take place on Tuesday 15th March starting at 9.30am and finishing with dinner. During the day we'll be making a short video to capture the experience. As well as viewing the exhibition that will be installed in the Holywell building for the event, we'll be visiting key points of interest and hearing from guest speakers. All travel will be covered.
