4 Time to Talk

It’s time for the Big Conversation 2018!

Voluntary Arts are running our annual survey of your experiences in the creative sector.

Last year over 1,000 people responded in our first large-scale survey to gauge the scale, mood, ambitions and needs of the participatory arts sector. This research was extremely insightful and played a vital role in helping evidence the size and diversity of the sector, as well as providing a clearer picture of how best to support creative groups. The mix of clear data and personal feedback on the impact of creative participation has bee invaluable in building the case for more support and recognition across the UK & Ireland.

We would be hugely grateful if you could take 6 minutes to fill in the 2018 survey and share it with your own network to help ensure we have a diverse range of views again this year.
The deadline is 11 December and each respondent can enter a draw to win a Google Home Mini smart speaker!

9   Human Rights Events: Film Screening – The First Grader

8th December 5pm, The Nerve Centre, Derry

Children in Crossfire is delighted to be hosting a screening of The First Grader as part of this year's Human Rights Festival.

The First Grader follows the story of Kimani Murage, an 84-year old man from Kenya, and his journey to receiving education. Following the announcement in 2003 from the Kenyan government for free education for all, this film explores Kimani's struggles and triumphs as he decides to enrol himself into the school system.

Through exploring this heartfelt and uplifting story, The First Grader highlights the importance of the Right to Education for all, and the resistance which many face when trying to practice this right for themselves.
