Amplify Sessions is a series of workshops that will help people come together to understand how people in their communities experience inequalities, tell the stories of their communities that often get overlooked, and use these insights to work in collaboration with communities to create solutions. Come along to our first taster session on Wednesday the 6th February. We will be running a daytime session at 12pm-1pm and an evening session from 6pm-7pm, please come to whatever one suits. Refreshments will be provided.
4Arts & Culture Five Year Strategy Consultation at The Playhouse
The Arts Council of Northern Ireland has announced the publication of their draft Strategic Framework for the development of the arts in Northern Ireland over the next five-year period. ACNI now welcome your feedback on the draft document and invite you to attend the consultation workshop next month.

The Strategic Framework document provides an overview of the strategic direction for the next five-year period, 2019-2024. It has been developed in consultation with the arts sector and key stakeholders, as well as partners in local and central government, and the wider public sector.
Public consultation on the draft document will close on 22nd March 2019 with the final strategic framework scheduled for publication in April 2019.

This programme is to work with 60 young people aged from 13-17 representative of all sections of the community from Derry Strabane and Donegal Council area.
The programme is about young people from all sections of the community taking the lead to do a community project that they design themselves.

We are seeking to add to our register of sessional trainers to deliver our Mood Matters mental health awareness programmes in the Southern and Western areas of Northern Ireland. Mood Matters is delivered to a range of adult groups and to young people in post-primary schools and other appropriate settings.
Applicants should ideally have at least one year’s recent experience of delivering training. However we will consider applicants who meet the other requirements of the post, have the necessary enthusiasm and energy and demonstrate in their applications and at interview an ability to learn to deliver this interactive programme.
On completion of training, successful applicants will be paid a sessional rate and mileage allowance where appropriate for all courses delivered. Applicants must have a reasonable amount of daytime availability Monday to Friday.
Minimum requirements:
Essential
One year’s recent experience of delivering training (or demonstrate an ability to learn to deliver the programme)
Good IT skills – in particular competent in the use of power point
Good knowledge and understanding of mental health/mental illness
Access to a suitable means of transport
Desirable
A recognised training qualification e.g. Award in Training and Education (formerly PTLLS) or higher

The Department of Justice is seeking to appoint a new Chairperson and three Board members to the Police Rehabilitation and Retraining Trust (PRRT).
The PRRT is an Executive Non-Departmental Public Body of the Department of Justice which supports police officers planning to retire from service, or those who have already retired from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) or the Royal Ulster Constabulary GC (RUC GC). The appointments will begin in April 2019, for a term of four years, for the Chairperson and one Board member and a term of three years for the other two Board members. Both positions are required to perform a representative role on behalf of the PRRT at a variety of events.
Chairperson
The Chairperson is required to provide effective strategic leadership and ensure that the Board carries out its essential functions in an efficient and effective manner. The Chairperson will be required to commit to a minimum of two days per month to PRRT business. The remuneration for the position is currently £10,000 per annum.
Board Members
Board members of PRRT are required to carry out the functions of the organisation and decide on the appropriate disbursement of funds and the funding of services commensurate with PRRT’s objectives. Board Members will be required to commit to a minimum of one day per month to PRRT business. The remuneration for the position is currently £5,000 per annum.

Join Void for the preview of Opened Ground. The exhibition will be launched by Eamonn McCann.
The title Opened Ground is taken from a collection of poems by Seamus Heaney; written between 1966 and 1996. The poems span a turbulent time in Northern Ireland and delve into both the physical and psychic landscape of that period. The presence of the border is part of the complex narrative of Northern Ireland creating divisions and divides. Since the Good Friday Peace Agreement in 1998 the infrastructures of the military checkpoints have been decommissioned and have become part of the past. With the approaching deadline of Brexit, and the lack of clarity on how the border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland will manifest, it gives rise to the tension of the possibility of the re-emergence of a 'hard border'.
Borders are a contentious issue locally, nationally, and internationally. The idea of territorial markings has historically been a constantly shifting ground. The invited artists in this exhibition have a shared history as each have a unique relationship with the landscape they reflect on; there is a biographical element to each, bearing witness to the lived experience of both past and present borders, and their effect on society as a whole.
