1 The Multiplier Leadership Programme

The Cares Family are inviting people to apply for 
The Multiplier, our national leadership programme, Bringing together a diverse group of change-makers on a nine-month journey The Multiplier is designed to increase confidence and capability in building more socially connected communities.
 
The organisation is looking for local community leaders across the UK who have a project or organisation that is at least six months old, and who need support to deepen and grow the impact of their work. Their projects will be connecting people across generations, backgrounds and experiences and has potential to make bigger systemic and cultural change. In return we will support change-makers to develop their skills in fundraising, storytelling, coalition-building, and more through specially designed workshops, peer support and mentoring plus an unrestricted £4000 grant to support their project.
 
Applications for the 2023 cohort are now open and close at midnight on 5th of February.

2 Spring Forward Events Grant Aid Programme

THIS GRANT AID PROGRAMME IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO COMMUNITY EVENT WHICH TAKE PLACE WITH THE SPERRIN OR DERG ELECTORAL AREAS. 

Are you a member of a business or organisation looking for financial support for and event taking place between January and March 2023? Look no further!

Introducing the Spring Forward Events Grant Aid Programme, a funding opportunity designed to support and stimulate both the business and wider community through events. Whether you're planning a music festival, or a community fair, we want to help make your event a success.

The grant aid programme is open to community organisations, businesses organisations, charities, social enterprises, and religious groups.  We welcome applications from events of all sizes and purposes, as long as they are open to the public and benefit the business community in some way.

Closing date for applications 16 January 2023 at 5pm.

 The Leathersellers’ Company Small Grants Programme

Our Small Grants Programme has reopened for applications! This is a fast-track application process for small unrestricted one-off grants (up to a maximum of £5,000).

The Leathersellers’ Small Grants Programme 2022-23 will consider applications from charities registered and operating in the UK (including Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIO) but not Community Interest Companies (CIC) that are working

  • to provide assistance to vulnerable people in their community
  • in geographical areas of deprivation (within the UK) – we recognise all relative measures of deprivation as tracked by the Indices of Deprivation or similar tools. We ask you who your work helps and why this is needed for that group or in that area so you can explain the need that exists there.
  • with an annual income of under £200,000 (secured for the coming year)

4 Reconciliation Fund Outreach Workshops 2023

The Reconciliation Fund awards grants to organisations working to build better relations within and between traditions in Northern Ireland, between North and South, and between Ireland and Britain. From 2023, the Reconciliation Fund will move to operating one annual funding round for 12-month grants. A Strategic Partnerships stream for 3-year funding was also launched in summer 2021.

We will host a number of workshops in Belfast, Derry and Monaghan which will outline the application process for the Reconciliation Fund step-by-step in advance of the Annual Funding Round opening in February 2023 and answer any questions that you may have. You are most welcome to attend the location and time that suits you best.

5 AONTAS NI Community Education Census

This meeting is an opportunity to reflect on the kinds of critical wraparound supports provided through community education, and the impact that this has on the learning experience. Through focused discussion groups, participants will also explore the challenges that have arisen for providers as a result of the cost of living crisis, and the need for sustained financial support for the adult and community education sector.

 7 Irish Traveller Accommodation Latent Demand Test - Derry

The Housing Executive intends to hold a latent demand test for all Travellers in the Derry area on the 2nd February at the Greater Shantallow Partnership at Northside Village Centre and 3rd of February 2023 at Skeoge Community Hub, 67/67a Clon Dara Skeoge Road.

We will be available from 10am to 4pm each day to answer queries and fill in application forms.

8 Resumption of hearing aid support Service

RNID is resuming its free drop-in support session for hearing aid users in:
Old Bridge House ( the old Waterside Health Centre), Glendermott Road, on Wednesday 11th January  from 3.30-4.30pm

The socially distanced drop off and pick up service provides new batteries, cleaning and retubing of ear moulds for NHS hearing aids.

The sessions are run by trained volunteers and funded by the Health & Social Care Board.
