Our Community Grants Programme can support day to day activities of a charity and new/existing projects, however we will also support charities to REACT to COVID-19, PREPARE to reopen services or adapt their services accordingly, and to RESTORE/RENEW in order to deliver what may be for many, a new way of life.

'Non-deemed' on CCNI's combined list, provided they can supply their HMRC letter confirming charitable status.
We have two grant programmes which depend on the size of the grant being requested – the processes are slightly different so please see below.
Regular Grants: For applications below £100,000. These applications are reviewed by our Trustees on an ongoing basis so there are no specific deadlines to worry about. You can apply when you are ready and when your plans and priorities are sufficiently clear to be able to make a compelling case – see our guidelines for details of what to include.
Major Grants: For application of £100,000 or more. These are reviewed at one of the Foundation’s eight Board meetings a year and are carefully planned in advance to be fair to all applicants. If you are considering applying for a major grant, please start by sending a one page summary to our Grants Officer, Ciara Molloy via cmolloy@garfieldweston.org outlining what you are raising funds for, the total cost and fundraising target. We can give you bespoke guidance on whether you are eligible.
The types of grant we make, whatever their size, tend to fall into one of three categories – Capital, Revenue (often called ‘core costs’) and Project work.
There are no deadlines that applicants need to worry about meeting.
Rosa’s Rise Fund provides organisational development funding for Black and minoritised-led women’s and girls’ organisations across the UK.
Through this fund, we are offering two-year grants of up to £40,000 to Black and minoritised-led women’s and girls’ organisations in the UK which have been established for three years or more, and which have an average income of less than £100,000 per year.
The funding is for organisational development work relating to areas such as strategy, governance, leadership, alliances and partnerships, funding, demonstrating impact and systems and processes.
This funding is available to specialist organisations led by and for Black and minoritised women and girls, working across all FOUR OF ROSA’S AREAS OF WORK. These are leadership and representation, safety, health and wellbeing and economic justice.
The deadline for applications is 5.00pm on Monday 10th January.
The Ocado Foundation is the charitable arm of Ocado Group, working for the benefit of communities across the UK. Through the Ocado Foundation for Good programme, the Foundation provides grants of up to £1,000 to charities, community organisations, community interest companies, academic institutions, and local authorities for community projects which focus their efforts on three core areas: skills for the future, natural resources and responsible sourcing.
Applicants must first create a BizGive account to apply.

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced all of us to change how we work. The Community Foundation Northern Ireland wants to assure charities and community organisations that we're here to support them at this challenging time. Over the past year, despite working remotely, the Grants Team has been committed to providing support to grantees by email and by telephone; to help them adapt and re-profile their grant delivery so that they can safely deliver their projects and support their communities.
New applicants and existing grantees are welcome to book a 20 minute time slot to meet with a member of our grants team. Groups can ask for support and assistance on a variety of issues relating to our funding, such as:
Advice on the criteria for new Funds, and whether their group is eligible
Talking through ideas for new projects
Help with how to access the application form online
Assistance with enquiries about your existing grant. This could be re-profiling your budget, or telling us about any difficulties you are experiencing that we might need to support you with
Requesting additional help with your 'End of Grant' monitoring or to request an extension to your end of grant date, if the fund permits.
8Invite to CYP Online Pre-Development Support Workshop - EU PEACE PLUS Programme
Prior to any funding call to the new EU PEACE PLUS Programme being opened, the SEUPB is co-ordinating an online pre-development support workshop targeted specifically at organisations who work with marginalised, disadvantaged, or excluded young people aged 14-24 years, who have deep social and emotional needs and are at risk of becoming involved in anti-social behaviour, violence or dissident activity. The SEUPB anticipates that a funding call for this Investment Area of PEACE PLUS will open in Spring 2022. In advance of this, the above online workshop will provide preliminary guidance to help potential applicants build their confidence, knowledge, and capacity so that they are best placed to make quality applications, with a strong focus on outcomes that meet programme targets. An indicative budget allocation has been set at €47m for this Investment Area. (Please note however, that the PEACE PLUS Programme is not fully approved and could be subject to change). It is anticipated that the majority of this funding will be invested in large-scale, multi-partner, cross-border collaborative projects. The online workshop will:
Explain the requirements of this Investment Area 3.2 and some of the details that are likely to be in the funding call including: types of project activities expected, area of impact, the outputs for the young people concerned;
Outline the key components of a strong application including EU funding requirements, and project management;
Discuss the financial implications for managing PEACE PLUS funding: capacity, cash flow, reporting; and
Provide a Q&A opportunity for those in attendance online.

9Connecting Communities-Campaign for Change; Active Citizens Winter School
The North West Migrants Forum are seeking representatives from community organisations and civil society, with an interest in Racial Equality and Human Rights, to participate in our Connecting Communities-Campaign for Change; Active Citizens Winter School, taking place from 4th-6th February 2022.
Funded by the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust, the Connecting Communities to Campaign for Change Programme aims to create a cohort of individuals and organisations with campaigning and advocacy skills who can engage meaningfully with policy processes across the Island of Ireland and the UK. Focusing on a specific campaign issue, the Active Citizens Winter School aims to connect active citizens from minoritized communities - and in particular people excluded from the Common Travel Area (CTA) - with civil society organizations in the Island of Ireland.
The Common Travel Area (CTA)is the widely used term for a variety of rights provided to citizens of Ireland and the United Kingdom. It allows British and Irish citizens to travel freely between the two islands, including to work and access healthcare. The current arrangements restrict the movement of people from non-European countries who reside on both sides of the border in Ireland. This impacts on their ability to travel, shop, work and even access health or education.
The Connecting Communities to Campaign for Change project will bring active citizens together to plan and produce a campaign strategy to extend CTA rules to all legal residents of the Island of Ireland so that this discriminatory legislation is reviewed and the same rights extended to non-CTA nationals, with a priority for those in border areas.

Eden Place Arts Centre has again teamed up with Amnesty International (Foyle Branch), Children in Crossfire, Foyle Fairtrade and Frontline Defenders to bring you this years programme of online and in house events.
All are welcome to our 'Write for Rights' Coffee morning on Friday 10th December from 12-2pm in Pilots Row Centre. Come along for a Fairtrade cuppa and to write a card to someone who has been unfairly imprisoned or sign a petition to support Amnesty International's campaign.

People generally don’t know how to recognise mental health problems or know what help is available. This programme will provide you with the skills to provide initial support for someone with a mental health problem.
Hope Matters is a new skills programme developed by RESILIO. It is based on research that suggests ‘Hope is a teachable skill’. The three-hour programme aims to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills to grow and maintain hope within themselves and others during these challenging times.
Hope is one of the strongest protective factors in reducing the risks of suicide and self–harm.
Mental Health First Aid Training (MHFA) Facilitated by AWARE
People generally don’t know how to recognise mental health problems or know what help is available. This programme will provide you with the skills to provide initial support for someone with a mental health problem.
Normally a two-day workshop, the programme will be delivered on-line, over 3 x 4-hour sessions using Zoom

13Energy Efficiency in the Home Information Session
At National Energy Action (NEA NI) we are concerned that higher energy prices, reduced incomes, and leaky, inefficient housing could put many households in Northern Ireland at increased risk of fuel poverty this coming winter. These increases come at a time when many household budgets are already stretched thin.
However, at NEA we know that some simple changes to day-to-day activities could make big differences to household bills.

21Calling all older photographers - our annual Christmas competition returns
COPNI's popular Christmas competition is back and we are looking for older photographers from all across Northern Ireland to submit their entries for this year’s theme which is ‘Hope’.
The winning photograph will be featured on COPNI’s Christmas ezine and the winner will receive a £100 voucher of their choice.
We want older people to capture their interpretation of ‘hope’ in the midst of difficult times. The photo entry could be one which was taken during a period of lockdown or shielding or when they reunited with their loved ones. Or it could be a current picture, perhaps a candid capture of nature which provokes feelings of hope. How you interpret the theme is up to you! We want to see every county represented so please spread the word far and wide.
Entrants must be 60+ and are allowed to submit two photos per person. Both digital and hard copy entries are accepted however digital is recommended. You can enter by emailing your photograph to communications@copni.org, sending it via COPNI’s Facebook page or posting it to:

The artist Mhairi Sutherland is in conversation with Martha McCulloch, currently one of the Co-ordinators at Artlink, Fort Dunree and partner at Memory Factory Photography, Buncrana. Before moving to Donegal in 2000 Martha was a Lecturer in Fine Art Photography at Glasgow School of Art and the first director of Street Level Photoworks, Glasgow, established in 1989.
Haptic Foto (conversation) is a public event, free of charge and all are welcome. Attendance must be booked in advance as visitor numbers are restricted.
As part of the exhibition public events programme, artist Mhairi Sutherland will lead a tour of the Haptic Foto darkroom, talking through the working processes and motivations. Of interest to those who are curious about historical photography and the alchemy of the ‘wet’ darkroom, this is an opportunity to view the work space from which the photographic works on exhibition emerged.

Haptic Foto is a photographic project exploring and revisiting concepts and practices of the ‘haptic’ (touch) in both lens based and camera-less processes, and through an analogue darkroom set up for the duration of the project. Haptic Foto is equally a critical reflection on the labour and work of artmaking through the lens of the artist’s studio, and the darkroom as a site of production, research and connectedness. The work of setting up an experimental, pilot darkroom and activating the processes of a working, ‘wet’ photographic space where negative print film is developed and positive images are hand-printed using light, chemicals and finally washed in water, are resonant with the tactile, haptic circularity of producing, making, cleaning, repeating.
Varying temporalities and radically different timespans loop and connect the disparate works of Haptic (paused). From seventy-year old family negatives, found during those first, disorientating weeks of isolation and reprinted in the darkroom, to Solargram images on photographic paper in hand-made cameras, recording the street outside the studio over several months. Monochrome images of former colonial landscapes and Victorian views are set alongside a camera obscura video filmed in real-time – reversed and upside-down – made on a bright September day during which a former military building was transformed, or perhaps more accurately, revealed, as a camera.
The Haptic Foto photographic darkroom was established by artist Mhairi Sutherland as part of the Clarendon Street Studios, Derry/Londonderry for a limited time during the Summer/Autumn of 2021. Processes and explorations were shared online and the experimental artworks shared through the HAPTIC (paused)exhibition in the Wild Tulips Gallery include an Artist Talk and Darkroom tour, open to the public and all are welcome.
