How can we best support your organisation and help fight your corner through the current cost of living crisis?

NWCN in partnership with NICVA would like to invite you to this timely event. This workshop is an opportunity for you and your organisation to share the challenges you are facing. Voluntary and community organisations are on the front line of the cost-of-living crisis supporting people and communities, all while facing rising demand for services, falling income, and rising operational costs.
Our sector can't continue to respond to this crisis without support.
This event will be a safe space to share your concerns, learn from other organisations and have a say on the support your organisation and beneficiaries need.
A fund of €200,000 will be available to support community-based projects and programmes across Ireland and Northern Ireland that are focused on empowering young people aged 16-25 by engaging in models of innovative and inclusive practise under the following three focus areas:
Empowering Learning
Empowering Sustainable Development
Empowering Inclusion

The Live Here Love Here Small Grants Scheme is an incredible opportunity for local communities to apply for a grant between £500 to £3,000 to improve their environment and promote a cleaner, greener and safer place to live.
Grants are available for community & voluntary groups and schools across 10 council areas and for communities in Housing Executive areas in the Causeway Coast & Glens area.
4National Express Foundation 2023 Funding Programme
The Foundation was created following the public order disturbances in July 2011, which highlighted the issues facing young people living in inner-city areas.
To help groups that support young people continue to build back from the pandemic, the trustees of the Foundation have chose to use its 2023 funding round to support initiatives which fit into one or more of the following funding themes.

On behalf of the John and Pat Hume Foundation and Community Dialogue, you are cordially invited to the Peace Summit Report Launch from 11am to 1pm on Wednesday the 24th May 2023 at Ulster University Belfast Campus.
We will be launching the Peace Summit report that has been composed through the contribution of 700+ young people, peacebuilders and the local community over the last 7 months and outlines actions on how we preserve and strengthen the peace process for future generations.
The launch will consist of a report presentation, panel discussion and key-note address.
Funding for our Mindset Programme has been extended until March 2024, so we can offer it at no cost to the booking Organisation!
Mindset is a Mental & Emotional Health & Wellbeing Awareness programme for young people, 14 – 17 years and also adult groups. Mindset is funded by the Public Health Agency and will run continuously throughout the year. Programmes will be delivered in all youth & community settings across all Health Trust areas for groups of 12 - 20 people. The Programme is 3.5 hours in length, it can be delivered face to face or on-line and can be delivered over one session or split over two sessions.
AMH MensSana Project Workers will provide and deliver a high quality, evidence based programme which is responsive to the needs of the groups above in the all HSC Trust areas.
Aims:
raise awareness and increase knowledge and understanding of Mental and Emotional Health and Wellbeing
raise awareness of signs and symptoms of mental ill health
promote self-help/resilience techniques and how to maintain a safe level of positive mental/emotional health and wellbeing
promote self-care
information and/or resources on mental health support organisations available (locally and regionally)

NWRC are recruiting applicants for a FREE Skills Academies that can leads individuals into employment.
These short programmes are fully funded through the Derry City and Strabane Labour Market Partnership and will give individuals the skills that employers are looking for.
You need to be over 16, unemployed and a resident of Derry City and Strabane District Council, you can complete our simple online form and a member of staff will contact you.
RNID is resuming its free drop-in support session for hearing aid users in:
Old Bridge House (the old Waterside Health Centre), Glendermott Road, on Wednesday 10th May from 3.30-4.30pm
The socially distanced drop off and pick up service provides new batteries, cleaning and retubing of ear moulds for NHS hearing aids.
The sessions are run by trained volunteers and funded by the Health & Social Care Board.
SUPPORT GROUP MEETING
Our next Support Group Meeting is being held on, Tuesday 16th May at 7.30pm via zoom. Our topic is PCOS and we will be joined by Dr Ishola Agbaje from the Regional Fertility Centre.
MINDFULNESS FOLLOW ON SESSIONS
Following on from our mindfulness courses over the last couple of years we thought it might be useful to run some refresher sessions as an opportunity to revisit aspects of mindfulness that were explored on the 6 week courses.
We plan to run these sessions in May and June and the dates and topics to focus on are listed below.
Thursday 18th May 6.30-7.30pm 1: Revisiting the topic of self-compassion and Loving Kindness.
Thursday 15th June 6.30-7.30pm 2: Revisiting the topic of Nourishing Happiness and Resourcing

The successful candidate will be responsible for the collection and delivery of goods to and from the Foyle Hospice, the Retail Shops, members of the public and other agencies as required while ensuring compliance with Health and Safety legislation.
