The Coca-Cola Thank You Fund, now in its ninth year, is our way of supporting and giving back to some of Ireland and Northern Ireland’s most amazing youth-centric causes.
Any Irish non-profit organisation aimed towards promoting healthy, active lifestyles and environmental leadership in young people can enter, with monetary prizes from a €100,000 total fund up for grabs.
Life-changing money for life-changing causes
This year, the Thank You Fund’s lifetime contributions will exceed €1,000,000, with another €100,000 being dished out to worthy causes that fit our 2019 theme of ‘Working with communities in Ireland and Northern Ireland to inspire and support young people.’
Any organisation – big or small – aimed at transforming the lives of people aged 16-25 can enter, with a judging panel and people’s vote helping to determine who’ll be the lucky recipient of individual prize funds worth €5,000, €10,000 or €20,000.

Applications are open until 12th July 2019, after which point our expert panel of judges will choose a shortlist of 20 organisations who’ll make it through to the next stage.
You have been invited to a seminar on the Icelandic Model of prevention
This is an evidence based model of prevention to reduce substance misuse among young people. The aim of the model is to prevent the onset of Alcohol use until the age of 18.
20 years ago Iceland had the highest percentage in Europe of substance misuse. To address this problem a group of Social Scientists, Policy Makers and Practitioners came together to devise a model based on Policy, Evidence and Research.
The Model was delivered by a multi-agency team and focused on increasing adolescent participation in structured and organised youth activities, supervised by adults and increasing the time spent by adolescents with their parents.
20 years on as a result of this prevention Iceland has now the lowest percentage of youth substance misuse in Europe.
This seminar hopes to give you a better understanding of the Model and explore if this Model could be implemented in our community.
This one day workshop will suit a wide range of professionals and volunteers. Anyone whose work or voluntary activities brings them into contact with people who have experienced sexual violence, or whose work or volunteering involves a safeguarding responsibility. This could include teachers, nurses, health and social care professionals, police and criminal justice system professionals, therapists, managers, counsellors, students, youth, community or faith sector workers, foster parents, carers and others.
Developed with expertise gained over more than 30 years’ of working directly with survivors of CSA and sexual violence, this workshop will cover training on handling disclosures of sexual abuse and the impact sexual violence has on survivors.
The training will allow participants to identify and discuss triggers to disclosure, fear responses, appropriate language to use when talking to victims of sexual violence, and strategies to help prevent or reduce the chance of retraumatisation. It also looks at the legalities and responsibilities of reporting and onward disclosure. Included also is coping with compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma, as well as self-care for participants.
AIMS
To improve participants’ understanding of appropriate handling of disclosure of sexual abuse
To increase awareness of the laws and procedures on safeguarding and reporting of abuse
To provide information on services and agencies that deal with sexual abuse
To empower participants to feel more confident in handling disclosure
To improve participants’ understanding of retraumatisation, and how to avoid retraumatising victims/survivors of sexual violence
La Dolce Vita Project will be hosting a Domestic Abuse, Violence Safety Conference to highlight the real life safety and support implications of domestic abuse, violence victims.
This conference will give you understanding into the importance of supporting someone while they remain living in or planning to leave an abusive environment. Particular attention will be placed on safety planning, resources available throughout Derry/Londonderry with the opportunity for you to network with various domestic abuse, violence, safety services.

This conference is for anyone who works with individuals or families facing loss, bereavement and trauma. In each workshop, you will hear directly from the "experts by experience"--bereaved families sharing their experience of resilience in the midst of trauma and loss. You will also gather practical therapeutic tools to incorporate into your own work.
Keynote address in a.m. by Brid Carroll, Psychotherapist and Chair of the Irish Childhood Bereavement Network, with specialist work in bereavement and loss. "From Inside Out" Youth Panel in p.m. answering questions on loss, hope and resilience. Most workshops repeated morning and afternoon.

Following the success of the first year of the Celebrating Commonality Celebrating Difference programme, the Churches Trust is now inviting people to participate in this innovative and enriching programme. The project is supported by the European Union’s PEACE IV Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).
The participant group will explore the Abrahamic Faiths; Judaism, Christianity and Islam. No previous knowledge is needed; rather this course is learning about the underlying ethos, commonalities and differences between the Abrahamic Faiths, and will include a series of study trips and workshops between May 2019 and April 2020.

Gary Lightbody will walk as a citizen of this country along with ordinary people to make a stand by to walking to Derry for peace in the name of murdered journalist Lyra McKee
The team at Lyra's Walk are absolutely delighted to announce the support of our very own Gary Lightbody, known best as the front man of Snow Patrol.
Gary Lightbody was born on 15 June 1976 in Bangor, County Down. He still resides in this area, its importance as home ever-present in his songwriting.
Lightbody puts relentless support into the Northern Irish music scene playing a pivotal role in developing our homegrown talent. In 2007, he co-founded the Oh Yeah Music Centre, a dedicated music hub in Belfast which nurtures all aspects of music making and the wider business of music.
It's a very poignant development for us at Lyra's Walk, when we started this, we were only a small group of five people, now we have over 500 registrations and several notable performers and musicians offering their support.
People are deeply affected by Lyra’s murder and we wanted to do something that would bring people from all backgrounds and political persuasions together in unity and offer a chance to engage with each other in constructive dialogue along the way.
Gary will join the walk in the final leg at Dungiven and walk to Derry~Londonderry as an individual with the rest of us. We now have increased capacity for our event taking place now at Erbrington Square event space and are featuring key note speakers and performances from other local artists including Hex Hue featuring Lyra's Choir and Abby Oliveira and more. We're calling on everyone to pick up a free ticket and join us on Monday 27th 3pm-6pm.

10 Voices 4 Care - Improving the Palliative Care Experience
Do you want to make a difference for people with a serious and progressive illness or condition which may limit or shorten their lives?
Yes? The All Ireland Institute of Hospice and Palliative Care (AIIHPC) wants to hear from you. Through Voices4Care we are committed to having the views of people with palliative care needs and their families at the heart of what we do.
Palliative Care focusses on helping a person with a life-limiting illness to achieve the best quality of life as their illness progresses.
We (AIIHPC) have established a forum of people with palliative care needs, carers, and communities, ensuring that their voices are heard.
Membership is being renewed and we are looking for new volunteers, reflecting diversity. Joining Voices4Care will give you the chance to be part of something that can make a real difference, and influence palliative care education, research, policy and practice.
Voices4Care members from across the island of Ireland are:
People with a life-limiting illness / palliative care needs,
Carers or former carers of people with palliative care needs
People from the wider community interested in palliative care
Members will have meaningful opportunities to influence and shape palliative care in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, through participation in service user/carer groups and the consultation processes.

12 Call for Participants: Fully Funded International Youth Exchange Project
For Your Freedom and Ours have a fantastic opportunity for three young people from Northern Ireland age 14 - 17 who will have a chance to join a fully funded* international youth exchange project (groups from Northern Ireland, Lithuania, and Poland) in Lublin, Poland between 7th and 15th of August 2019.
PersONLINElity is an international youth exchange project focusing on the most current issues and challenges of the personality of young people that can be seen online and offline. We will mainly focus on confrontation with hate speech in the virtual and real world, risky behaviors and how to prevent them, how to promote online safety to encourage young people to use the Internet to create their future careers and positive relationships between people.
Main aim of the project is to raise knowledge of young people in the field of hate speech and online security, through the organization of a series of workshops on the broadly understood Internet threats: hate speech, cyber-violence, addictive behaviors online, using it as a medium to promote good attitudes and as tools on the labor market.
As part of the project, participants will organize a SAFE INTERNET DAY and a FLASHMOB.

In Northern Ireland since 2015, Techies in Residence has brought together hackers, coders, developers and designers with people who really understand social problems to build digital solutions to social challenges. This event will showcase some of the great projects making an impact across NI and beyond and it will provide collaboration and partnering opportunities to support the further scaling up of these projects.
Techies in Residence is a programme of the Community Foundation, managed by Innovate-NI and funded by Comic Relief.
Who should attend?
Anyone interested in Tech for Good, whether that be the Tech community (designers, developers, business leaders, educationalists, VC’s) the Impact Community (Charities; Community, voluntary and social enterprises; philanthropists; impact investors, development experts) or anyone with an social issue or idea that could be supported with tech.
The Human Rights Consortium are currently seeking two enthusiastic volunteers, who are committed to human rights and equality, to assist in the development and distribution of a weekly roundup of human rights related news stories from Northern Ireland.
This opportunity would involve volunteering one day a week for a six-month period, with the option to be based from home.
