The Foundation will be holding an information session for the Mental Health Support Fund on Thursday 8 July 2021. The workshop will focus on the funding criteria and provide support regarding the application process.

Priorities:
Talking therapies, psychological therapies and similar interventions;
Interventions which reduce pressures on mental health acute in-patient facilities for adults and children including in-reach to in-patient mental health services where there is support from the HSC Trusts; Interventions which is expected to have an overall impact on the need for people to access statutory services; Support for individuals, families and carers to improve emotional wellbeing and mental health through self help; Support individuals, families and carers to access mental health and wellbeing services they need at the right time and place;
Support to individuals with mental health problems to engage more fully in society;
Support to individuals, families and carers to access technology to assist in improving their mental health, managing their mental health, treating their mental health, or in their recovery from mental ill health;
Reduction in stigma associated with mental health;
Advocacy and peer support work;
and Capacity building and sustainability in the delivery of mental health interventions and projects.

We created the Santander Foundation to help disadvantaged people in the UK. Throughout the years, we’ve supported a number of non-profit organisations to deliver charitable initiatives across the country.
We’ve developed the Financial & Digital Empowerment Fund to help more people in the UK become digitally and financially empowered.
We want to support UK charities to give people the digital confidence, knowledge, and skills to enable then to make better, more informed decisions about money and have access to financial services. Together we can make a positive impact in our communities.
We have some important requirements that you must be able to meet to apply for a Santander Foundation Grant.
If your organisation chooses to apply you must:
be based in the UK and working within one of the nations or regions.
be a UK registered charity or Community Interest Company.
have at least three unconnected Trustees, Directors or Management Committee members. By unconnected we mean not related by blood, marriage, in a long-term relationship or living together at the same address.
have an annual income above £75,000. We aim to fund no more than 40% of an organisation’s income in any one year. We anticipate most of the organisations we’ll support will be small and medium-sized organisations with an income of less than £2 million.
have a bank account in the organisation’s name with at least two unconnected signatories.
have been operating for at least 18 months and have at least one set of annual accounts.

3 DCSDC's Bonfire/Alternative to Bonfire Programme - funding available - Closes TODAY
Please find attached an application form for DCSDC's Bonfire/Alternative to Bonfire Programme 2021/22.
Please note that only groups with no other council funding for their Bonfire/Alternative will be supported. Additionally only one grant per Bonfire/Alternative will be supported so it is recommend that groups within these areas work together on an agreed application.
There is a very limited budget of £10,000 for this fund so it is unlikely that DCSDC will be able to fund all applications.
Completed forms should be returned to goodrelations@derrystrabane.com by 4pm on Wednesday 7th July, late applications will not be considered.
Summer Update: BBC Children in Need are continuing our commitment to fund organisational costs for groups working with children and young people and delivering positive impact. We are encouraging applications for organisational cost funding to support the day-to-day running costs of delivering your work. We know that this flexibility can be a real help and we are driven to support the sector with these types of grants after the effects of COVID-19.
Our Main and Small Grants programmes are for not-for-profit organisations applying for grants of up to three years.
We only fund organisations who can tell us why they are best placed to deliver their work. This means applicants must be able to tell us about:
Their well-established links with young people
The skills and expertise they have for the work they are requesting funding for
Their track record delivering the work they are requesting funding for. This is especially important for applicants for our Main Grants Programme
How they work alongside other organisations in their local community
If you cannot tell us about all these things, we do not recommend applying for funding. It is highly likely that your application will be unsuccessful.
We give grants for:
Children and young people aged 18 years and under experiencing disadvantage through:
Illness, distress, abuse or neglect.
Any kind of disability.
Behavioural or psychological difficulties.
Living in poverty or situations of deprivation.
The work we fund make differences in children’s lives that help prevent or overcome the effects of the disadvantages they face. Funded organisations achieve these differences by either working directly with children or seeking to improve their social and physical environments.
5 Elevate: Community Mentoring & Grants Programme 2021
We are delighted to launch the Elevate Community Mentoring & Grants Programme for this year which incorporates one to one support from a mentor organisation, group training and networking sessions and a grant of up to £5,000 to implement a community based project.
We invite all community and voluntary sector groups to apply for the programme which provides a unique opportunity for community organisations to put their collective learning on health inequalities into practice in a supportive and encouraging environment.

6Recognise the volunteers that make our communities better
Do you involve volunteers? Are they making an exceptional impact on a local community? You could be awarded a Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service next year!
The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service (QAVS) is the highest award given to local volunteer groups across the UK. It was created in 2002 to celebrate the anniversary of the Queen's Coronation. It is the MBE for volunteer groups and is awarded for life.
It is awarded to exceptional groups of volunteers whose level of initiative and impact are truly exceptional. 169 volunteer groups currently hold the Award in N Ireland. A successful group will normally have the following characteristics:
Volunteer-led: The volunteers are in the driving seat, setting the direction for the group’s work and spotting opportunities to develop it still further each year.
Exceptional compared with comparable groups: This group is likely to be one of the best of its kind in the country.
Making a considerable difference locally: The initiative of this group and the efforts of its volunteers have changed the situation dramatically for its beneficiaries.
Well-run: There are high standards of governance, financial management and safeguarding.
Outstanding reputation locally: The group has a high standing in the community and has an excellent reputation with beneficiaries, service providers and others.
QAVS are only awarded to the very best of hundreds of nominations each year. This is a badge of excellence and a real achievement for a group. It provides a big boost to the volunteers as well as great publicity for their work. Anyone can nominate a group, as long as they are not one of its employees or volunteers. Nominations can be submitted between April-September each year via the Award’s website https://qavs.dcms.gov.uk/. Nominations are particularly encouraged from beneficiaries of a group’s work, or from those who are not involved with the group but have observed and admired the results of their work.

7Masterclass: Involving your community in development, delivery and evaluation

Involving those who access your services and those who provide support is crucial to how you develop, deliver and evaluate your services. It is important to understand why carrying out involvement is so important and to build the practical skills and knowledge to carry out involvement projects effectively.
This excellent workshop, delivered by the Western Health & Social Care Trust, offers participants the chance to increase their skills, knowledge and confidence in how they effectively and meaningfully carry out involvement. It is aimed at those who have little knowledge or experience of carrying out involvement and will provide a foundation in how to plan, structure and carry out an involvement project.

Our aim is to bring awareness, educate, empower, promote and encourage communities in understanding the affects of domestic abuse,and parental alienation.
