The Central Good Relations Fund (CGRF) supports constituted voluntary and community sector groups to deliver good relations projects which contribute towards the delivery of one of the Together: Building a United Community (T:BUC) Strategy key priorities.
Applications to the Central Good Relations Fund 2023/24 for project funding (over £1,500) are now open. Applications for funding should be made using the online application portal.
To access the online application portal, you must first register your organisation. However, if you have previously registered, you do not need to register again.
The deadline for applications is Thursday 12 January 2023 at 6pm. However, you must register your organisation by 12noon on Wednesday 11 January 2023 to enable access to the online application portal
Is your organisation looking to connect people and communities to heritage in the UK?
Will your heritage project last up to one year?
Do you require a grant of between £3,000 and £10,000?
Are you a not-for-profit organisations or a private owner of heritage?
If you answered yes to these questions, then National Lottery Grants for Heritage are for you.
The impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic means we will prioritise heritage projects that:
promote inclusion and involve a wider range of people (a mandatory outcome)
boost the local economy
encourage skills development and job creation
support wellbeing
create better places to live, work and visit
improve the resilience of organisations working in heritage
Projects must achieve at least our inclusion outcome. In addition to our outcomes, all projects must also consider long-term environmental sustainability.
There are no deadlines so you can apply whenever you are ready.
We are delighted to announce that due to the popularity of this Grant, we are extending the deadline for applications to 15 January.
This is only for NEW applications, not those currently in progress, but not yet submitted.
This Grant fund supports schools, community groups and Tree Warden Networks to plant trees, hedges and orchards. Grants can be between £200 and £2000. All projects must have strong community involvement, and ideally involve children and/or young people. We encourage you to read the application guidance fully before you complete the application form, particularly in relation to eligibility.
The Acorn Farm, I can Grow project is calling for families in Derry/Londonderry and Strabane to roll up their sleeves and get planting. No experience needed!
The programme supports families to grow their own fruit and vegetables. Families are given everything they need to grow food at home, learning from horticultural experts to begin the creation of a more sustainable food system throughout the city.
Holywell Trust launched it’s new Thirty project on Monday 5th December. Recruitment is now open for participants to take part in the project. Thirty will deliver four citizens’ assemblies examining 3 issues:
Good Friday/Belfast Agreement: Civic voice 25 years on
Education: Towards a system that works for everyone
Legacy: Reconciling the Past with a Future Focus
Who we are looking for - people with an interest in the topic being discussed and in moving this place forward on some of our more challenging issues. Participants must be able to take part in the full programme (2 workshops and residential). Process - for each of the issues we will:
Hold an induction workshop where participants will start to get to know one another, receive information on the upcoming residential and a preparation pack.
Each participant will be expected to prepare for the residential by reading the information contained in the pack. This will include policy documents relevant to the theme being discussed.
Facilitate a residential for the thirty participants where they will hear expert input on the topic being discussed and have the chance to formulate solutions and recommendations on the themes. These will be agreed or voted on by all thirty participants.
We will also hold an influencing workshop to share the solutions and recommendations made by the participants with key stakeholders and decision makers.
We will capture our process through video and podcast conversations which will be widely distributed upon conclusion of the project.
Join NIRWN for a three-week online programme where we explore through the digital film archive, the lives and role of women in Northern Ireland. We will journey through the decades taking a closer look at women within the family, community and wider society and the role they play and continue to play in helping shape the past, present and future of this place we call home.

This research is looking at young people’s experiences of learning about relationships, sex and sexuality.
It is being carried out by Cardiff University, University College London (UCL) and the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC).
The research findings will help schools, youth groups and other organisations understand young people’s views and experiences of learning and seeking support about relationships, sex and sexuality, and how this can be made better.
The closing date for the survey has now been extended to Wednesday 14th December.
On Thursday 15 December at 12:00, as part of FODC Disability awareness programme, RNIB will be hosting an online information session to highlight the Community Access Service, local support groups, eye clinics, Sight Loss Pathway in the Community, campaigns information and other help and support available.

There is never a right or easy time to lose loved ones. But it can be especially difficult at this time of year, when we come together to celebrate Christmas and we look around missing those who are no longer present.
The Virtual Tree of Remembrance let’s us write a personal message to those we’ve lost and it will then be placed on the Christmas Tree at Foyleside from 16 December . The virtual Tree is for those of you who are living around the world or for people that can’t make it to the main tree for various reasons. And still want to be part of it.
You just make a donation no matter how small which will go directly to both charities HURT, Have Your Tomorrowsand Aware NI to help fund essential services over the festive period.
The launch of the Main Tree will be on Friday 16 December at 11am and all are welcome
