5 A Discussion: Economics for Ordinary People or Under the surface of Neoliberalism

St Columb’s Park House, Monday 18th November, 2.00 – 4.00 pm

We are living in strange times. We know of many problems – climate change, poverty, debt, insecure employment …. problems for which the present economic system seems to have no answers.

Tony Weekes, formerly an academic economist, will enable a discussion on the reasons for this by focusing on two questions:

  • What do citizens need to improve our understanding of economics?
  • Do we need ‘a society’ rather than ‘an economy’?

For further information or to register for this taster discussion, contact marianfarrell@mac.com 07834707496

If there is interest from those attending the taster, a further four sessions will take place in the spring of 2020.
